( How to get back on track with life)
You know you have that capability to put in work, you have worked very hard in your past but somehow you lost track. It seems hard to get back on track with life or with anything once we have lost the momentum. We have become the slave of our bad habits, the ease in the comfort zone lures us into doing nothing.
Don’t worry, we all have been there.
Somewhere in our mind, we want to change our current habits so badly, but we are simply not able to. With passing time we sometimes start doubting our abilities. We have to remind ourselves that nothing has changed, we are still quite capable of doing things that once we did in our past.
It’s okay to take a break, but a break should only ensure that you return with more power.
Here’s a step by step guide to get back on track with life:
( How to get back on track with life)
Step 1: Hold on to that motivation
You are reading this article because you seriously want to achieve your goal. You are motivated at this very second. Hold on to this motivation. Don’t procrastinate more.
Grab your diary and a pencil and write down all the habits you want to develop in the next 30 days. Think of all the paths that will lead you towards your goal. What your comeback should look like, what areas you want to strengthen, what are your final expectations from this 30-day challenge, jot down everything.
You have now scribbled your motivation on a piece of paper, they are not just dreams now, they have become goals.
The first step of turning our dream into a goal is done.
Step 2: Plan as a beginner
It is a new beginning. Plan your schedule like a beginner. Don’t just put yourself under much pressure in the starting itself. Start with something that is easy and then slowly increase the pace.
In this manner, you will be able to continue for a longer time. Plan how your schedule is going to look like, decide how much time you are going to give every day to your goal. For instance, if you wish to start working out again, it is better to devote the initial days of training to prepare your body to gain strength.
You can do this by starting with beginner-level exercises ( obviously) and by including regular stretching to prevent injuries. As soon as you gain the pace, increase the level.
It is just a matter of 30 days, if you continue doing it for a month, you will be able to form an amazing habit.
Step 3: Measure your progress every single day
Record everything. Even if you are not able to achieve something at the end of the day, still write it down. Make sure that the same mistake is not repeated the next time. It is important to record your progress every single day because tracking your actions helps you stay on track.
You will be reminded every day what are you working for.
Suppose you are a student or anyone who is struggling with time management. If your goal is to at least work 6 hours or study for 6 hours and suppose in the starting, you cannot attain the goal. You only studied for say 4 hours.
Now, what you can do, you can go back, think of all the moments in your day where you could have actually saved time. Don’t repeat the same mistakes the next day.
You can also write in your journal, the mistakes that you made today, things that made you proud, things you need to change. This is going to help you a lot.
Step 4: Leave no space for regrets
You should be satisfied with all that you have achieved in the day. It is just a matter of 30 days. Put everything you have got. Don’t give yourself a chance to regret it.
It is okay to have a light day on Sundays, but you have to be in your beast mode on the other days.
If your mind says to simply skip some work or to simply leave the last 2 exercises in your workout regime, don’t listen to it. Your mind will go against you every single time when you are close to reaching a milestone, it will stop you from going further every time you reach closer to making progress.
“Your body is capable of handling anything, it is your mind that you have to convince.”
Step 5: Do one thing that is out of your comfort zone
30 days have passed, you have successfully added a new item to the list of good habits. It is time to celebrate your achievements along with planning what to do next.
You have become strong, you have crossed one level, it is time to prepare yourself to continue the journey with bettering yourself every day. Add one thing to your schedule that is related to your goal and which is out of your comfort zone.
Do at least one thing in your day which helps you grow, which makes you better than who you were yesterday. For eg, increase the time for holding a plank from 1 minute to 1 minute 10 seconds, then 1 minute 30 seconds, slowly to 2 minutes;
study for 30 minutes more today, eventually, increase it to 1 hour,
or solve a problem that has been troubling you.
You are going to see immense progress at the end of the month, you will be amazed to see how far you have reached.
Step 6: Focus on building your motivation
This is the most important step, to keep yourself motivated. We know how strong the power of motivation is. It made us start with working towards our goal, now the aim is to continue working towards it.
It can be hard to get back on track and we don’t want to make that mistake again. Try building your motivation to work hard and continue doing that work.
You can do this by appreciating yourself for small achievements. Share your journey by reaching out to people with the same goal. There are also different challenges such as the 15-day abs challenge over the internet, being a part of such challenges will help you stay on track.
You could subscribe to different newsletters that can help you providing information regarding that goal. Creating your own goal calendar will help you keep note of the progress.
It is going to be a very exciting journey to work towards your goal. Every day is not going to be the same, it is important to know that you can also introduce some flexibility to your schedule but in a manner that does not affect your progress.
Just trust yourself and don’t let anything distract you from your goal, not even your own mind.
